K660 Indoor Kiosk
The sleek, modern design enables the unit to be integrated into any surroundings while maintaining ADA compliance for accessibility and operation. The low profile floor stand does not protrude or obstruct into the surrounding area. The base also facilitates anchoring the kiosk to the floor for maximum security and safety. The robustness of the design enables all of the configuration options to be placed anywhere at a cinema site, thereby offering maximum flexibility for placement in high customer traffic areas. The new modular design offers two basic peripheral devices 1) a magnetic stripe reader (MSR) and 2) a fan-fold ticket or thermal receipt printer. The MSR is a single head swipe style reader, that provides accurate card reads. The ticket printer provides high quality printing on heavy fan-fold ticket with an auto-cutter. The ticket printer provides the customer with tickets, receipts, coupons, and additional information. The receipt printer is a high speed 3.25” width thermal printer that accommodates varying receipt lengths. This kiosk includes a 15” active matrix, color, 1024 X 768 main display with resistive technology touch screen. The 15” display is a 56% increase in surface area over the 12” models which allows for improved ease of use with larger more graphical commands, more application design flexibility, better viewability and better resolution. The high-bright, active matrix screen provides the best possible display quality, with excellent contrast and brightness. Additionally, the dual VGA outputs allow another display to be driven to display additional informational or promotional material. The bezel surrounding the display is designed to provide a clean, pleasing appearance and also provide ventilation for the cooling of the electronic components. The capacitive touch screen of the Radiant K660 Indoor Kiosk provides a very durable, accurate and fast response touch interface, as well as outstanding optical clarity. The option of the resistive touch screen provides an accurate and fast touch interface even with a gloved hand or stylus. The computer also has multiple powered serial ports including eight RS232 and four USB ports. This provides expansion capabilities if new devices/peripherals need to be supported without having to buy an add-on expander. Also, the powered serial ports eliminate the need for power bricks, thereby reducing another point of potential failure with a peripheral device. The Radiant K660 computer supports multiple operating systems including Windows XP Professional and XP Embedded, and therefore supports any Windows based application. The connectivity provides full support for TCP/IP networking on a 10BaseT or 100 BaseT Ethernet network and it has full support for a wireless network (optional). Upgradeability and expandability are fundamental to the indoor kiosk computer, which is exemplified by the ability to upgrade RAM and storage. It allows further expansion through the low-profile PCI and PC Card slot. Toolless service of the MSR, ticket printer and the display / computer module allow for simple troubleshooting and replacement (if necessary). The Radiant K660 Indoor Kiosk is Radiant System’s low profile customer self-service kiosk product. The kiosk is used for a variety of applications that are generally segmented into ticketing or retail. Ticketing applications utilize durable fan-fold ticket stock for tickets / receipts. Retail oriented applications are typically food service, retail (self-service POS), or informational, and incorporate a thermal receipt printer. This indoor kiosk utilizes a new 15” high bright LCD display with proven touch screen technology. The computer contained within the kiosk employs the highly efficient Pentium M or Celeron M processor which equates to greater than 2.0GHz performance of a standard Pentium 4 design, but with lower power consumption thereby yielding a more reliable design. The kiosk also uses Intel’s Centrino™ Mobile Technology, which combines a Pentium M processor, 855 chipset, and optional PRO/Wireless card. In addition, the terminal is based on Intel’s EmbeddedATX standard motherboard form factor to maintain an open and upgradeable platform. All of the major components within the indoor kiosk are easily serviceable / replaceable with merely a screwdriver, resulting in simple return to service in the event of component issues.
